The idea of The The Italian Dish was born on a trip to Italy in Fall 2003 with my niece. By the following Holiday season I had researched Italian ceramics and created a business plan.
I could not find appropriate space so I started the business out of my home and participated in Holiday gift shows. In February 2005, I found a great space in Beautiful downtown Birmingham, MI and opened the doors of my new retail store in July 2005.
At The The Italian Dish, we offer a true sensory shopping experience. As you enter, the aroma of fresh espresso fills the air, the music of Andrea Bocelli plays in the background and a bounty of beautiful, colorful Italian ceramics meet your gaze.
We are thrilled to bring you what we think are the treasures of Italy; tabletop and decorative hand-painted Maiolica ceramics, Italian Crystal stemware, Florentine stationary, artwork and other beautiful home decor items.
We also offer specialty foods which we use to create unique gourmet gift baskets for any occasion. We look forward to having you in our store soon. Mille grazie.
